Muhlenberg Sweeps Centennial Basketball Awards

Malique Killing, Nicole Pepe A sweep of Washington College led to a sweep of the Centennial Conference weekly honors for the Muhlenberg basketball teams.

Senior Malique Killing was named men’s player of the week, and classmate Nicole Pepe earned the nod on the women’s side.

Killing received the CC honor for the fourth time in his career after scoring a game-high 28 points to go along with five assists and three steals in an 88-82 win. He was 8-of-11 from the field and drained all 11 free-throw attempts. Killing is now tied for eighth on the all-time Centennial scoring list with 1,707 career points.

For the season, Killing leads the CC in scoring at 20.2 points per game and steals with 19. He also is tied for the league lead in free throws made (51) and is tied for second in assists (39).

Pepe, a first-time honoree, scored nine points in the first six minutes and went on to tie a career high with 19 points in only 19 minutes in the Mules’ 82-51 win. She tied a school record by going 4-for-4 from three-point range and finished 6-for-7 from the field.

Pepe is averaging 9.0 points per game, good for second on the Muhlenberg team. She is tied for sixth in the CC with 13 three-pointers made.
